Las Aguilas Humanas is a film that follows a traveling family circus in Guatemala. The constant motion prevents the members of the circus from making friends, going to school, or participating in any community activity. The only window to the mainstream culture is through TV and the casual contacts they might have with non-circus people during their short stays.
Las Aguilas Humanas tell the story of how the isolation created by constant travel has stunt the evolution of rights and values: It has allowed the male members of the circus to maintain a micro culture where machismo is seen as a virtue and women are treated as house slaves. But how long can the women put up with it?
